Mickey Rooney, 1920-2014

Posted by

It’s with great sadness that I relay the news that Mickey Rooney has passed away.  He was 93 years old.  Mickey and Judy were, as he would state “more like brother and sister.”  They had a special bond that is rare in any era.  Mickey was the type of powerhouse talent that we’ll likely never see again.  He was also one of the last of the great entertainers who started in Vaudeville and enjoyed a decades long career.  RIP Mr. Rooney, you’ll be missed.

Here is the Variety.com obituary.  There will be many more in the days to come, as well as tributes and remembrances from those who knew him well.  The best way that I can pay tribute to Mickey here on JudyGarlandNews.com and via The Judy Room is to spotlight his performances with Judy, which are some of his very best.
