After a full year of research and work, the “On This Day In Judy Garland’s Life And Career” project is finally finished! There is now a separate entry (post) for every day of the year (see below). Hooray!!
This doesn’t mean I’m completely done. For the past year, I concentrated primarily on events during Judy’s lifetime with some information about events and releases in the decades after her death. Now I can go back and add various ad hoc items such as record, CD, home media releases, and other notable events. In other words, the project will be ongoing but no more linear daily updates because, well, they’re all posted now!
The page with the links to every day of the year is here as well as in the main menu above. They’re also included below.
You can also follow The Judy Room’s Facebook Page and Facebook Group, which is where I plan to continue to post links daily to the existing entries and where many more rare photos and lots of fun information is shared by our wonderful members.

Thank you so much! It’s been a labor of love and educational experience as I’ve learned so much and been able to clarify so much. I’ll keep updating the entries with more details and new information, they just won’t be linear, daily updates.

Thank you so much. I can only guess at the work that went into this. Thanks also to the fans who have shared images of their treasures with you. Judy has been my favourite everything since I was about 12. I am almost 55 now. I look forward to reading your post every day. Thank you for creating such a fun and welcoming place to celebrate Judy.

Thank you! I’ll keep updating the posts and I do more research. Most of the information comes from Scott Schechter’s “Day by Day” book, plus newspaper archives, books, etc. Most of the media come from either items people have sent to me over the years or my own collection that I’ve amassed over the years. 🙂
Very proud of you Scott. This was a labor of love and it is and will be so valuable to future Judy fans who want to know just a little bit more about her- besides her movie career but in her real life . The time and effort you have put into this project is very much appreciated by me and everybody else who loves Judy in such a positive and lovingly way that you have shown us – so many interesting facts and rare photos – this will be a go to place to learn about all things Judy for all time for everybody –
