REMINDER: MGM Backlot book to be released this Tuesday, Feb. 15th

Posted by

MGM BacklotLast August I reported that the wonderful new book “M-G-M Hollywood’s Greatest Backlot” was set for release last November.  The new release date is this Tuesday, February 15th. (here is the original post with more photos)

This is the first, and only, comprehensive look at the long gone MGM Backlot – the biggest and best backlot in all of Hollywood.  Filled with tons of rare photos and information, the story of this “Movie Disneyland” is fascinating.  Obviously, Judy and her peers spent many days working on most, of not all, of the various standing sets.  One of the most famous (and one that appears in dozens of films and TV shows) was the “St. Louis Street” built specifically for the 1944 masterpiece Meet Me in St. Louis.

Be sure to add this invaluable resource to your library!
