Garlands for Judy – Special Judy Garland Centennial Edition!

Posted by

Happy New Year!

It’s been a while since I’ve created a new “Garlands for Judy” webzine.  But The Judy Garland Centennial was a special year!  It needed a (long-delayed) reboot of the ‘zine that included a review of all the events, products, tributes, and more.  So, this year, the “Year in Review” is merged with “Garlands for Judy” in a Judy Garland Centennial Special Edition!  86 pages in all!

You can download the PDF or view the interactive web-based version here.

Be sure to check out The Judy Room’s “Garlands for Judy” page for other issues of the webzine.  Enjoy!

Below is a small sampling of the pages.

  1. Thank you – Thank you, for this remarkable homage to Judy for her 100th I especially liked your stunning layout of the Wilshire Ebell gown exhibit. Thankfully I was able to see this in person, but I want to commend you for how beautiful you covered it by including photos of Judy in the gowns depicted. It was like you brought the exhibit to life again. On another note, like everyone else, I do wish “they” would wrap up releasing the remainder B&W Judy films from MGM in HD Again, thank you for all the hard work and research it must have taken you to cull together this beautiful 86 page Garlands For Judy tribute. Bravo!

    1. Thank you! That’s so nice, and I really appreciate it when people enjoy my “work” (or rather, labor of love). I wish I could have been there for the exhibit. It sure looked great. I would have stayed for days and days… I’m happy to have been able to showcase such great photos taken by fans and curators. They did such a great job of displaying everything.

I hope for Judy’s B&W films in HD as well. “Presenting Lily Mars” is at the top of my list. I had hoped that the Archive would have put together a centennial boxed set of new and previously released Blu-rays. That would have been nice. Not that I don’t love the three that were released. They’re great. I look forward to future releases.

Thanks again, and Happy New Year!

  2. This is absolutely wonderful!
I’m wondering does anyone know the best place to visit to see Judy memorabilia? My sister and I are trying to plan a visit but it seems like a lot of Judy memorabilia is owned by private collectors.
