Posted by December 7, 2024: The final bid for the Ruby Slippers was a record-breaking 28 million dollars! The final sale price was $32.5 million after the fees were added! So far, the new owner is a mystery. Eventually, we might find out; we might not.
What we DO know is that Emma from Scotland is the winner of the “guess the winning bid” contest! Congratulations Emma! She guessed 22 million, which is as close as anyone got to the 28 million and the 32.5 million.
Thank you to everyone who submitted guesses. It was a lot of fun to see so many people’s guesses. The numbers ran the gamut from 4k to 300 mil!

Heritage Auctions will auction the famous Michael Shaw pair of Ruby Slippers on December 7, 2024. Online bidding begins on November 1, 2024.
This is the pair that was famously stolen from The Judy Garland Museum in 2005 and not recovered until the FBI acted on a tip and recovered them in 2018. Now they’re up for auction and will undoubtedly sell for a record-setting amount. Join in the fun by making your best guess. You could be a winner, too!
