Any fan of the Great American Songbook knows of the tireless efforts of Michael Feinstein in documenting and preserving its legacy.
Feinstein was lucky enough to meet and get to know many of our greatest songwriters, including the great Ira Gershwin. Ira co-wrote the songs for Judy’s 1954 masterpiece A Star Is Born. Well, Feinstein has a new book coming out this October that looks to be fabulous. And why not? Everything Feinstein has done has been nothing less than fabulous. Just his preservation work alone should prompt us all to revere him.
Of course, “The Gershwins and Me” isn’t a Garland biography, however she’s featured a bit due to her association with them. It’s always nice to get another perspective on her work with others, and Feinstein knows what he’s talking about!
The book will be available this October. Click here pre-order.
The deluxe version of the book, complete with CD and memorabilia folder, will also be available.
