As part of its recent announcement of the many DVD and Blu-ray releases scheduled for 2013, Warner Home Video has included Easter Parade in the list of upcoming Blu-rays. No release date or disc details have been announced, but it’s safe to assumed it will be released in time for the Easter holiday weekend. Two mammoth boxed sets are also scheduled: A 100 DVD collection and a 50 Blu-ray collection (see images below). Judy’s films included in the sets are The Wizard of Oz (in both sets) and A Star is Born (in the 100 set only).
Also schedule for release are themed 20-film DVD collections including: Best Picture Winners (January 29), Musicals (February 5), Romance (April 2), Comedies (July 2) and Thrillers (September 1).
What with the Oz 3D Blu-ray/theatrical release and this new Easter Parade Blu-ray, 2013 will be another fun year for Garland fans!
Juliens Auction House is auctioning off one of Judy’s Dorothy dresses from TWOZ. they say it’s the one she wears throughout most of the film (but didn’t Profiles in History just auction one off, too?)
