I don’t think I need to remind anyone that April 23, 2011 is the 50th anniversary of Judy Garland’s greatest concert Judy at Carnegie Hall. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of this monumental night, I’ve created a Tribute Video featuring rare performance footage, photos, and of course audio (the audio isn’t rare).
CLICK ON THE IMAGE AT RIGHT to see the tribute video. That will take you to The Judy Room Homepage where the video is featured.
The Judy Garland Online Discography “Judy at Carnegie Hall” Page includes the tribute video as well as the complete unedited performance footage used as source material. Fascinating footage.
I could run on about how amazing “Judy at Carnegie Hall” is, but that’s been accomplished by much better writers than myself. It’s best to sit and listen to the concert and let it speak for itself. This tribute video is the least I could do to celebrate the woman, the concert and the album that have never ceased to give me unending hours of pleasure, enjoyment – – and goosebumps.

It is certainly unfortunate that no one had the forsight to record this on video and audio tape. I fell in love with Judy Garland about 30 years ago and I haven’t stopped. I have a pretty modest collection of concerts, television and such. Whenever I talk about her to people whio only know the “press coverage”, they are amaze at home many songs were written specifically for this woman. If you look only at her body of work , even Al Jolson would have to abdicate his crown to the real “Worlds Greatest Entertainer.” God Bless you Judy – you’re all right with me.
Happy Birthday, Judy! If a video had been made of you cleaning your house, I’d buy it…you are the best there is…
